Ultrasonic Speaker Driver
As part of a Parametric Speaker prototype I am currently working on, I am planning to drive an Ultrasonic Transducers Array using a TI Class-D Amplifier TPA3111D1PWP. An Array of 50 transducers with the Specifications below1, arranged in a parallel mode as can be seen in an attached figure. /adobe-cc-2017-arabic-full-for-mac.html. I need to deliver about 40 watts to a piezo tweeter at 30 khz. The tweeter is an CTS ksn1016A and is rated at 45 watts and is good for 40 khz. The amp is an LM7828 rated at 40 watts into 8 ohms. The problem is the tweeter has an capacitive reactance of 84 ohms at 30khz. The impedance mismatch is. Using the TS250 to amplify the signal source and it outputs high voltage and high current ultrasonic waveform that drives the piezo speaker. In summary the TS250 is an ideal ultrasonic amplifier driver. High-frequency signal from a signal generator is amplified to drive a transducer. 2-way & 3-way hi-fi speakers are common because you can't cover the entire 20-20kHz audio range with a single driver. It takes a fairly big woofer to get (usable output) down to 20Hz and you can't vibrate a big speaker (woofer) at high frequencies.
